Meet Brett Mize


Brett Mize is a prosecutor, husband, father, and lifelong public servant.


As the First Assistant District Attorney for Osage and Pawnee Counties for over the past 5 years, Brett brings over a decade of experience prosecuting the toughest crimes—from child physical and sexual abuse to homicide to gang violence and narcotics trafficking. A former Tulsa and Washington County prosecutor, Brett has earned a statewide reputation for integrity, toughness, and fairness in the courtroom.


Brett has successfully led over 40 major jury trials, re-established the Osage County and Pawnee County Multidisciplinary Teams to protect children, and served as the lead prosecutor in Drug Court and Mental Health Court programs. In 2023, he was honored with the Mitch Sperry Award as the top prosecutor in the state of Oklahoma.

Brett also serves the people of Osage and Pawnee Counties as a Special Assistant United States Attorney.


When he's not in the courtroom, Brett has served future professionals in the criminal justice system by serving as an adjunct professor at the University of Tulsa Law since 2021. Brett has taught at numerous law enforcement academies. Brett's passion for our country and constitution has also led him to be an adjunct professor at Rogers State University teaching US Government to high school and college students.


A law professor, church member, youth sports coach, and devoted husband and father of three, Brett is rooted in the values of faith, family, and service. The son and brother of Oklahoma Highway Patrol officers, Brett knows that justice starts with character and is delivered through action.


Now, Brett is running for District Attorney to continue fighting for victims, holding criminals accountable, and ensuring our rural and suburban communities remain safe, strong, and free.
